    About

Join the only accounting program in Alaska accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the premier global accrediting body for business and accounting programs and schools.

As an accounting major at UAF, you'll have unique opportunities for networking and experiential learning. You can get real-world investing experience through the Student Investment Fund class, or take part in the volunteer income tax assistance program. We offer numerous internships, most of which to lead to job opportunities for our students. You can also grow your professional network and access career guidance services through the business program and a variety of professional student organizations.

Our graduates enjoy high CPA pass rates and an almost 100% job placement rate. If you're looking for extra flexibility, we also offer the bachelor's in accounting fully online.

Advantages of Earning a Degree in Accounting

Accounting is one of the most versatile majors, offering a foundation in business as well as providing a strong foundation of knowledge if you plan to pursue the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license.

An accounting degree is portable, allowing you to easily relocate anywhere. With an accounting degree you can work in CPA firms, large corporations, small businesses, not-for-profit entities or government organizations at all levels (federal, state and local). You might even choose to operate your own business!

The bachelor's in accounting online degree is a great option if you want to work in the fields of general accounting, auditing, managerial accounting, taxation or government accounting. With extra flexibility to work from anywhere you want, the online accounting degree is perfect for students with jobs and families, or who live outside the region and are looking for an accredited accounting degree online.

    How to Apply

To start your adventure at UAF, your first step will be to apply for admission. We offer a fast and convenient online application.

Once you are admitted into a degree program at UAF, we’ll start preparing your I-20 — the form needed to apply for the F-1 student visa and to enter the U.S. in student status. This process can take up to 7-10 business days once all documents have been received.

You'll also send your official secondary school and/or university transcripts to a NACES-approved evaluation service and request a comprehensive course-by-course credential report. Transcripts from Canadian institutions (excluding Quebec) are exempt from this requirement; they may be sent directly from the issuing institution.
SpanTran is a NACES-member company that has created a custom application for UAF students. We recommend using the UAF SpanTran Evaluation Request Form to ensure you get the right kind of evaluation at a discounted rate.

In order to issue your immigration documents, we must receive the UAF Financial Statement for International Students (PDF) and supporting documentation. We’ll also need a copy of your passport identification page.

Your immigration documents will be mailed to the address you provided, along with your official letter of acceptance and information about applying for your visa and travel to Alaska.

You must have a student visa to study in the United States. UAF offers documents for two student visa types (F and J) depending on the type of program you attend. As part of the application process, you’ll also need to schedule a visa interview.
