About

An accounting education at Utica University doesn’t just come from textbooks. The Accounting major is integrated with other business disciplines - such as marketing, management, and finance – helping graduates meet the challenges of a constantly changing business world. The accounting major offers two concentrations. In the public accounting program, get started on the path to certification as a public accountant in New York state. While the completion of the BS degree alone will not make you eligible to become a CPA, completion of this program together with Utica College's MBA in Professional Accounting fulfills New York State's 150-hour requirement, making you eligible to take the uniform CPA exam.

Entry Requirements

A completed online application and personal statement
After completing the online portion of your application, please send the following documents to [email protected]:
1. Official transcripts (mark sheets) of all secondary and post secondary academic work along with an explanation of the grading system (in English)
2. Tests of English language proficiency, if English is not your first language. Utica University requires one of the following:
  - Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550 written, 213 computer-based, 79-80 internet-based;
  - International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0; or
  - Duolingo English Test (DET) score of 100
3. One letter of recommendation
4. Offical examination results for school finishing or leaving examinations
5. Copy of Passport
SAT (I or II) or ACT scores are not required for undergraduate applicants except for the following majors: Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy
Although a decision on your application can be made without financial documents, Utica University cannot issue you immigration documents necessary to obtain your visa until we receive the following completed documents from you:
- International Student Data Sheet
- International Student Certification of Finances form
- A signed letter from a bank official stating that sufficient funds (at least $38,078) exist to cover the total cost of attendance. Any scholarship award can be applied.
