Overview The Acting program at Howard University combines classroom instruction with rehearsal and performance techniques. The program is divided into three levels of training: Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced. Specific skills are emphasized at each level. A jury examination is required each semester of all acting students. A satisfactory jury examination is necessary for a passing grade in all Acting classes.Student Opportunities The Department of Theatre Arts provides numerous opportunities for you to participate in productions, receive additional training, and make a difference in the community. All opportunities offered by the Department are designed to help you perfect and develop your skills in Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre, Design/Technology, and Arts Administration.
