    Whether it occurs in a college classroom or corporate training program, learning is necessary for personal and professional development.

    This program prepares you to lead and teach professional development and training programs as a manager or educator in your field of technical expertise. You will explore strategies for teaching adults, learn to plan and develop curriculum, study workforce development concepts, and much more. Areas of emphasis include adult learning and literacy education, organizational learning, and human resource development.

    Graduates are positioned for management and educator roles in business and industry, higher education, government agencies and nonprofits.

    Entry Requirements

    Applicants must have a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 grade scale equivalent to U.S. bachelor’s degree. If your GPA meets the minimum admission requirements, the department of major will determine if your overall academic record and test scores meet department requirements.

    Note: If you do not meet the minimum 3.00 GPA, your application can be considered for admission if you:

    • Earned an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher for your last 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits.

    OR

    • Worked in the program specific profession for 5+ years. 
    • Obtained a letter of support from a faculty member in the department. 
    • Wrote a detailed statement/essay describing your professional experience and potential to succeed academically

    How to Apply

    Students must submit:

    • An international application for admission.
    • $70 application fee (nonrefundable).
    • Official secondary school transcripts identifying subjects taken, marks received and graduation date. If you have not yet graduated from your secondary school, a transcript showing all completed work may be accepted for early admission. External examination reports should be provided when applicable.
    • Official transcripts with subjects and marks received from any colleges or universities attended.
    • An official TOEFL score or equivalent.
    • Certified, literal translations of all credentials issued in any language other than English. To find more information about the University of Idaho’s policy on academic transcripts and certified translations see the Transcripts and Translations Document.
    • A statement of your activities if you've had a gap in education.

    Please note: Students applying after the deadlines above or with incomplete files by these deadlines can still be considered for admission if they have their educational credentials evaluated by a professional evaluation service. There are five professional credential evaluation services from which the University of Idaho will accept evaluations.
