    About

    The course has been co-designed with industrial engineers from across the UK and Europe from Toyota, CoorsTek, SLE different Rolls Royce divisions have contributed to verification and validation of the programme and module learning is industry relevant.

    The overall consensus from industry was a warm welcome to this type of course, in particular the course would support your learning in Artificial Intelligence, mechatronics, PLC, advance manufacturing technology from lasers to printing methods, and robotic technology and practical issues of health and safety, risk, security, inclusivity and ethics of the technology.

    Investing in advanced manufacturing systems and technology enables industry to progress and face unprecedented situations. This has been evident during the coronavirus pandemic and the World Economic Forum (2020) identified companies who invested in this technology were more able to: Adapt quickly to the current crisis, flip to new business opportunities and support Governments through the pandemic. Ensure business resilience through the use of advanced manufacturing technologies. Readily support safe COVID-19 manufacturing practices.

    Entry Requirements

    Bachelor degree For programmes requiring a 2:1: 
    A final grade of at least Very good/76% or a GPA of 3.0/4.0 For programmes requiring a 2:2: 
    A final grade of at least Very good/76% or a GPA of 3.0/4.0

    English Program Requirements

    All applicants for undergraduate programmes will need a minimum English level of IELTS or equivalent 6.0 overall, with no less than 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in all other bands. Some programmes require 6.5/7.0 – please contact the International Office if you are unsure of your course requirement.

    For postgraduate entry all applicants will need a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in all other bands or equivalent. Some courses have a higher requirement – please contact the International Office if you are unsure of your course requirement.

    For International Foundation entry all applicants will need a minimum of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent, with no less than 5.0 in writing and no less than 4.0 in all other bands.

    If you have taken an IGCSE exam in English and have a Grade C, this will also usually be acceptable for most undergraduate courses.

    We are also able to consider some non-UK English qualifications for entry. The International Admissions Team will advise if they are able to accept your English language qualification once you have applied.

Taking advantage of potentially transformative enabling technologies, such as 3D visualisation, analysis and printing, composites, which could potentially transform the manufacturing sector in near future. Government and environmental agencies value advanced manufacturing to identify the opportunities to meet low carbon policies and legislation, which is increasing investment in energy efficient technologies and driving research in lightweight materials. Sales and marketing engineering products as export opportunities, which is considered a major growth opportunity for UK manufacturers. Leading and managing the efficient and effective management of the manufacturing team, commission, implementing, operating and servicing advanced automated manufacturing solutions.
