Agricultural Communications

The Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communications brings Sam Houston State University's School of Agricultural Sciences together with SHSU's nationally-recognized Department of Mass Communication to study broadcast journalism, marketing, and public relations. Students will be prepared to promote the various disciplines within the agricultural industry–from beef cattle to environmental efforts and from food production to sustainable energy.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture expects communicators proficient in multimedia and social media to have the strongest employment prospects in the estimated thousands of agricultural communications job openings in coming years.

1. Complete an online application and pay the $90 non-refundable application fee.
   Alternatively, you may pay later by mailing a check (address below) or pay through the SHSU Self Service Center.

2. Send secondary school or high school academic records (transcripts, mark sheets, graduation certificate) in a sealed envelope to the following address:

3. Submit a third party transcript evaluation -Official evaluation of high school transcript from SDR Education (www.sdreducational.org) and NACES member agencies (www.naces.org).
