    Overview With CALS’ individualized approach to Agricultural Sciences, there is no “typical student.” Agricultural Sciences students have multi-faceted interests and want to develop as leaders within a vibrant and supportive academic community.  Agriculture Science provides an overview of agriculture, as well as more intense study and hands-on experience in one of five concentrations.The Agricultural Sciences interdisciplinary undergraduate major at Cornell University is for students wishing to pursue a general education in agriculture to prepare for careers that require a scientific and integrated understanding of agriculture and food systems. Students learn about agricultural sustainability from multiple perspectives by taking a wide breadth of core coursework, complemented by a concentration in  one of the following areas of study: Animal Science; Business Management and Policy; Education and Society; Organic Agriculture; Sustainable Cropping Systems Management. Career DevelopmentAgricultural Sciences students enjoy a vast range of career options. The major can prepare you for work with the family operation, industry, Cooperative Extension, nonprofits, government, or advanced studies. Graduates are now all over the world engaged in diverse work. Examples include a practicing lawyer, veterinarian, farm manager, food scientist, agronomy professor, high school teacher, commodity trader, community manager of a non-profit, agricultural lender and the list goes on!
