    About

    International agricultural programme with a focus on development cooperation Continual population growth has caused an increase in the demand for sufficient and healthy food. AgriTropics therefore follows an interdisciplinary approach to increase agricultural production in the tropics and subtropics in a sustainable way without losing sight of the scarcity of existing resources. Students are prepared in a targeted manner for research focused on development and are qualified to lead interdisciplinary teams. Focus on sustainable agricultural systems with the goal of food security Application of course content in ongoing research projects Outstanding career opportunities in international organisations The curriculum is designed to convey the following abilities and competences: Qualitative and quantitative evaluation of natural resources and their influence on agricultural products in the tropics and subtropics. Consideration of agricultural production systems and methods in view of the nutrient cycle Knowledge transfer to derive management recommendations and evaluate various sustainability strategies Evaluation of infrastructure-related limitations to market access Development of specific development approaches for the sustainable increase of agricultural production Graduates are highly competitive on the international job market. Depending on their profile, career opportunities for graduates may be found in: Agricultural administration International development agencies Non-governmental organisations International research facilities and universities Consulting companies Agricultural industries The Master’s programme also qualifies and prepares students to pursue a doctoral degree.

    Entry Requirements

    Students require an above-average Bachelor of Science or an equivalent degree in Agricultural or Natural Sciences or a related discipline based on at least three years of university studies or German FH studies. Over and above these general entry requirements, selection is based on grades, educational background, motivation, and relevant professional experience.
