    Aircraft Maintenance Engineering

    About

    This course is designed to support you in completing the exam element of the EASA part 147 training certificate. You must also accrue 5 years of practical experience in an aircraft maintenance role in order to be awarded the full training certificate. This can be done alongside your studies or after graduation. In addition, there are many other aerospace relevant jobs which are available to graduates within manufacturing and repair/overhaul in the Midlands. The programme has been aligned to the academic requirements for professional recognition as an Incorporated Engineer.

    Entry Requirements

    UCAS Tariff - 96 points
    Must be in a relevant subject such as Engineering/Mathematics and/or Science disciplines.

    Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DD
    In a relevant Maths, Science or Engineering subject.

    Pearson BTEC Diploma (QCF) - DD
    In a relevant Maths, Science or Engineering subject.

    GCSE/National 4/National 5 - GCSE C/4 or below in English and Mathematics or equivalent will be required.
    HNC (BTEC) - M
    For entry into the second year of the BSc (HONS) Aircraft Maintenance course a minimum of 120 credits at Merit profile or above and must be in a relevant subject such as Engineering/Mathematics and/or Science disciplines

    HND (BTEC) - M
    For entry into the third year of the BSc (HONS) Aircraft Maintenance course a minimum of 240 credits at Merit profile at level 5 or above and must be in a relevant subject such as Engineering/Mathematics and/or Science disciplines

    A level - CCCC
    Must be in a relevant subject such as Engineering/Mathematics and/or Science disciplines.

    Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - MMM
    In a relevant Maths, Science or Engineering subject.

    Access to HE Diploma - D: 15 credits M: 15 credits P: 15 credits
    Access to HE Diploma in a relevant subject such as (Science or Engineering).Acheiving a minimum of 60 credits with 45 at level 3, with at least 15 credits at Distinction, 15 credits at Merit and 15 at Pass profile.

    English Program Requirements


    Students who are non-native English speakers, or who have not studied the final two years of school in English, but can demonstrate capability in English at a standard commensurate to IELTS 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 being awarded on individual sections for a level 4, 5 or 6 qualification, will be considered as eligible to apply for the programme/course.
