Animation

About

Animation is collaborative. Within a strong studio culture, you be encouraged to learn together with your fellow students - and students on different courses across the university - as you develop your unique animation voice. You use your initiative and develop practical skills as you work on projects, from concept to final completion and distribution. You also be able take full advantage of the resources available across all of our campuses, including audio recording suites, film and television studios and high-end computing spaces.

You be shown how to research and come up with creative concepts and ideas for both wider audiences and niche markets, and you learn how to overcome obstacles as you bring your ideas to life through the production process.

With guidance from both industry professionals and experienced tutors, you learn and develop the core skills of animation, as well as more advanced skills to take your ideas to the next level.

Intermediate Diploma with a score of 60% or GPA 2.4 out of 4.
Associate degree with a score of 60% or GPA 2.4 out of 4.

Working with children or vulnerable adults

Any module, study or voluntary experience that involves working with children and/or vulnerable adults will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance check to be carried out before you’ll be able to join.

If you will be teaching students, you will also need to carry out the Fitness to Teach assessment.

Already hold an undergraduate degree?

If you already have a degree or higher qualification than that for which you are applying, your fee requirements may be different, due to the way government University funding is distributed. Please check the Equivalent or Lower Qualification (ELQ) policy for more details.

This also applies to students who progress to the third year of study, following completion of a Foundation Degree. Please note that Foundation Degrees are currently exempt from higher fees.
