The general anthropology major, for which a B.A. degree is awarded, prepares students for advanced work that can lead to college teaching, museum work, and/or research, as well as careers in non-academic settings. For students interested in a strong liberal arts background, the general major is an excellent program which can be adapted to varied professional and career goals. Internship opportunities provide students with hands-on work experience. Students can major in Anthropology with Elementary Education Certification and then be qualified to teach grades K-6 in New Jersey Public Schools.
120 credits of coursework is required for the baccalaureate degree with a minimum 2.0 overall GPA, and a minimum 2.0 major GPA.
