    Overview The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at University of Texas El Paso is nationally recognized for excellence in the social sciences by engaging in the discovery and application of knowledge about behavior and the social and cultural processes that underlie it, with a special focus on the U.S.-Mexico borderlands (as well as other areas), environmental justice, migration, and medical sociology/anthropology.MissionThe mission of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology is to offer excellent BA programs that prepare students for employment in education, government, social services and other fields as well as graduate school.
