    Entry Requirements

    Academic Qualifications

    • Applicants who have completed a Diploma of Technician / Technical Diploma in a relevant subject can be considered for year 1 entry of an undergraduate degree
    • Applicants who have followed the IB Diploma curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
    • Applicants who have followed the A-Level curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied

    Undergraduate Advanced Entry

    Students who have completed a 2 year Diploma or Associate Degree from a recognised institution can be considered for advanced entry onto the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree programme

    English Program Requirements

    English language requirements

    International applicants will need to have achieved an overall of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component/TOEFL 72 overall and a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing or equivalent.

    Within our three core strands of Digital Forensics, System Security, and Governance, you have opportunities to gain advanced accreditations, build real-world experience, and engage with industry professionals to showcase your skills and forge relationships. This gives you an exceptional chance of securing a role in your chosen field. You could also progress to study Applied Cyber Security or a related field at MSc level. Your first year contains an entire unit on professional practice and employability, where we show you how to make yourself attractive to cyber security employers, including setting up your professional LinkedIn profile.

    We have strong links with key people and organisations in cyber security, who develop live briefs with us and offer placement opportunities. These include government departments such as the Financial Conduct Authority, Home Office Scientific Development Research Branch, GCHQ, Office for National Statistics and The Royal Mint. Also, law enforcement agencies such as South Wales Police Digital Forensics Unit, Gwent Police Hi-Tech Crime Unit, Met Police and various digital forensics companies. We also work with private firms such as Airbus, Thales, Bridewell, Cyber Wales and various international banks and financial service providers.
