    Master's in Applied Economics Overview

    Business school economics programs focused on the master's level are rare. Lehigh's College of Business offers a Master of Science in economics that features intimate interaction with professors and colleagues with very small class sizes. The program is recognized for its top-quality instruction by faculty who have won university teaching awards and whose research is current and relevant.

    Students have the opportunity to supplement their educational experience with elective courses in finance, international relations, engineering, political science, mathematics, or marketing. While the focal point of this program is on the M.S., there is preparation for optional Ph.D. matriculation.

    Entry Requirements

    International applicants must hold an American bachelor’s degree or an equivalent foreign degree requiring at least 16 years of primary, secondary, and university education. International applicants applying for regular graduate student status must submit all documents required for that status.

    University admissions criteria for non-degree graduate students are:

    • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with an overall grade point average of at least 3.0. Applicants with undergraduate GPAs below 3.0 may be admitted with the approval of the department in which they wish to take courses

    — or —

    • Evidence that the applicant is presently a student in good standing in an appropriate graduate program at an accredited institution

    — or —

    • Evidence that the applicant has received an appropriate graduate or other advanced degree from an accredited institution.
