UMass Boston's STEM-designated Applied Economics MA offers a distinctive research-focused master's program that expands on both orthodox and heterodox theories and their policy implications. We also offer an accelerated BA/MA program (4+1) for eligible undergraduates.

The Applied Economics MA program consists of 32 credits with courses offered in late afternoons and evenings to accommodate working professionals. Courses are conducted by distinguished faculty with expertise in economic development, labor, feminist economics, environmental and ecological economics, economics of income distribution, labor, urban and regional economics, poverty, economic demography, and the political economy of race and gender.
