Launch your career in architecture through the Bachelor of Science in Architecture in Temple University's Tyler School of Art and Architecture. Graduates of this 123-credit, professionally accredited undergraduate program receive a pre-professional degree, qualifying them for paid internships in the architectural field or admission to a Master of Architecture program–a requirement for professional registration and a career as a licensed architect. 

Take coursework in architectural design, history and theory of architecture, sustainability and building technology. With guidance from an"¯accomplished faculty of design practitioners and innovators and access to top-notch resources at Temple, you'll acquire knowledge and skills to engage timely, global topics like health and climate change, social equity and digital design processes."¯"¯ 

Build fundamental skills in design thinking and making through intensive design studios that incorporate information from lecture and seminar courses. Learn to form and communicate unique design ideas through digital processes, drawing and model-making, and explore coursework in related Tyler programs, such as community development, facilities management, historic preservation, horticulture, and landscape architecture. 

Graduate Pathways 

Through Tyler's 4+1 accelerated track and 4+2 track, students earn both Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Science in Architecture degrees in a sequence that meets the National Architectural Accrediting Board's standards for an accredited professional education.

The annual Architecture and Environmental Design Career Fair connects students of all majors and class levels to internship and full-time employment opportunities in built environment professions. 

1. Make an application plan.

If you’re a first-year applicant, you’ll first want to pick a deadline goal and decide if you’d like to apply Early Action (due Nov. 1) or Regular Decision (due Feb. 1).

2. Apply using the Common Application.

Temple exclusively uses the Common Application. When completing your application for Temple, be sure to indicate whether you’re applying Early Action or Regular Decision if you’re a first-year applicant. Even if you apply before or by the Early Action deadline, you still must indicate Early Action on your application to ensure you will receive an admissions decision early. Transfer applicants do not need to select a deadline preference.

There’s an application fee of $55, which you will submit at the same time as the Common Application unless you qualify for a waiver.
