    BA (Hons) Art Enterprise (Graphic Design and Illustration) Top-Up

    Learn from industry professionals, hone your skills and nurture your creativity to create your very best work. You will develop your design identity, gaining the confidence to move forward as a graphic designer or illustrator. Whether your love is of traditional elements such as typography, drawing techniques and visual communication, or more contemporary digital processes such as working with motion graphics and AR, you will focus on your specialism.

    About the course: You will understand how to contextualise your practice and find your place within a dynamic industry. You will be continuously practicing and presenting your work in real-life situations, reflective of the breadth of possibilities for working as a professional designer. Utilise our industry links as well as forging your own as you launch your career.​ In addition to applying creative thinking to your work, you will confidently and professionally operate, manage and construct artwork via digital means. Tailor your skills and knowledge towards your career goals while learning from industry professionals. You will work in conjunction with other designers and artists to generate and grow a captive audience, in turn nurturing your creative ability. Graphic designers and illustrators must now be equipped with specialist industry-focused skills to compete in the global studio and function within the creative industry. This course is subject to validation by The Open University

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    A typical offer is likely to be pass at Foundation Degree or a Merit profile in a relevant HND, together with a number of GCSE grades at C or above including English.

    All students are to present a portfolio of artwork and supporting academic text which is disclosed during an interview or correspondence for distance applicants.

    International qualifications will be assessed against these criteria.

    Speakers of other languages need to have an IELTS score of at least 6.0 or a recognised level 2 English qualification.

    All students must be able to demonstrate either by qualifications or testing that they have the required literacy skills to complete the course.

    The course can be offered on a part-time basis if required.

    English Program Requirements

    IELTS: IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any component. International qualifications: International qualifications will be assessed against these criteria.
