    About

    The subjects Art and Art Education are taught at Bremen University within the context of a BA programme. Both area programmes are devoted to academic inquiry into historical and contempory artistic products and processes, together with their theoretical and practical analysis and teaching. The central components comprise the traditional subject areas of the fine arts, encompassing painting, sculpture, drawing, architecture and arts and crafts/design. The geographical focus lies on the Occidental art of Europe and the USA. The field of media receives the same attention on the programme as the classical art genres.
