    Looking to immerse yourself in critical thinking and idea exploration, but not sure which program interests you most? In Trent's Honours Arts path you can begin your first year expanding your horizons, engaging in discussion with faculty experts and exploring a few different areas of study before declaring a major or joint-major in second year. This first-year pathway gives students the flexibility to combine different disciplines and take courses from programs across the humanities and social sciences.

    Start in Honours Arts in first year and move into the humanities or social sciences program of your choice in second year " English, History, Economics, Anthropology, Media Studies, International Development Studies... choose from 30+ B.A. degrees.
    • Develop your skills as a thoughtful, critical, and effective communicator through discussion-based lectures led by professors who are leading authors, artists, and researchers
    • Become a creative problem-solver by studying across disciplines in the social sciences and humanities to explore different and complementary ways of thinking

    Communications Specialist

    This unit group includes specialists in advertising, marketing and public relations who analyse, develop and implement communication and promotion strategies and information programs, analyse advertising needs and develop appropriate advertising and marketing plans, publicize activities and events, and maintain media relations on behalf of businesses, governments and other organizations, and for performers, athletes, writers and other talented individuals. They are employed by consulting firms, advertising agencies, corporations, associations, government, social agencies, museums, galleries, public interest groups, and cultural and other organizations, or they may be self-employed. Agents such as entertainment, literary and sports agents are included in this unit group.

    You are encouraged to apply to Trent as early as possible as some programs have limited enrolment. 

    • Ontario secondary students will use the OUAC 101 application form at www.ouac.on.ca/101
    • If you are not currently registered as an Ontario secondary student, please apply using the OUAC 105 application and refer to the special application instructions below. www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/
    • Domestic students (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents) not currently enrolled in an Ontario high school, and wishing to only apply to Trent University, can do so through the Trent direct application If you are an international applicant or are applying to multiple universities/programs, please apply at www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/

    Access Codes:

    If you are currently enrolled in an Ontario secondary school, guidance counsellors will provide you with access codes (school number, student number, temporary PIN) to access the OUAC site and application process.

    All other applicants will create user profiles on the OUAC site and will not require access codes.
