    This broad yet focused degree enables you to explore a variety of scientific, social, and humanist perspectives, applying them to a range of diverse issues such as healthcare, climate change, human rights, and law. B.A.S. graduates are uniquely qualified for further studies at medical or professional schools, post-graduate study and research, or specialized careers in interdisciplinary and growing fields such as scientific journalism. Challenge yourself through the examination of multiple topics in the arts and sciences, exploring how these diverse subjects intersect in interesting and exciting ways.

    • Explore your strengths and career interests, and graduate with 12 months of work experience (and income) through the new four-year B.A.S. co-op option, giving you the competitive edge for future career success
    • Get hands-on in labs and think critically as you cross disciplinary boundaries pursuing your passion for both arts and science
    • Gain professional experience performing and presenting independent research for the Arts and Science Colloquium
    • Take advantage of several internship opportunities within one or more of your chosen majors
    • Participate in a community-based research project with guidance from faculty members in a variety of disciplines
    • Choose a single or double major and up to two minors to create a program and set of experiences as unique as you are " a bonus for any résumé!

    Policy Analyst

    Natural and applied science policy researchers, consultants and program officers conduct research, prepare reports, provide consultation and advice and administer programs in a variety of areas related to the natural and applied sciences.     • Ontario secondary students will use the OUAC 101 application form at www.ouac.on.ca/101
    • If you are not currently registered as an Ontario secondary student, please apply using the OUAC 105 application and refer to the special application instructions below. www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/
    • Domestic students (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents) not currently enrolled in an Ontario high school, and wishing to only apply to Trent University, can do so through the Trent direct application If you are an international applicant or are applying to multiple universities/programs, please apply at www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-105/

    Access Codes:

    If you are currently enrolled in an Ontario secondary school, guidance counsellors will provide you with access codes (school number, student number, temporary PIN) to access the OUAC site and application process.

    All other applicants will create user profiles on the OUAC site and will not require access codes.
