About

Airlines welcomed more than 4.5 billion passengers in 2019, while global cities, â€˜mega-regions and emerging destinations have experienced phenomenal growth in aviation development. Devised in response to these trends, our Aviation and Airport Management top-up degree will build on your existing industry knowledge and help get your career flying in this dynamic sector. This top-up course will enhance your understanding of global aviation and the industrys contribution to national economies. Studying at a recognised Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) Centre of Excellence, youll also have access to University College Birminghams stunning new Aviation and Tourism Suite, offering state-of-the-art simulation facilities including a mock plane cabin. Our course gives you the chance to travel overseas and undertake a project examining the impact of aviation connectivity. With nearby Birmingham Airports Â£500 million expansion plan to become the â€˜Midlands Gateway to the World, there is also a wealth of practical opportunities right on your doorstep. If you have previously studied a relevant subject up to Level 5, you will be able to enrol on our one-year top-up course. If you have previously studied a relevant subject up to Level 4, you can apply to transfer onto our course at Level 5 for the remaining two years of your degree.

Entry Requirements

Applicants holding 'A' Level Certificates will be considered against the standard UCAS tariff for any Undergraduate Degree programme applied for.

Applicants holding the International Baccalaureate with a minimum score of 24 will be considered against the standard UCAS tariff for any Undergraduate Degree programme applied for.

Those holding (Community College Diploma) in a relevant subject may be considered for advanced entry.

English Program Requirements

To apply for all undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, you will need to sit an approved test in English if it is not your first language. This might include achieving IELTS (Academic or UKVI) of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band, depending on your course requirements.

In addition, we accept Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 72 with minimum band scores of Reading 18, Writing 17, Listening 17, Speaking 20 for Undergraduate (BA, BSc) and most postgraduate degrees.

If you are applying for the International Foundation Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism, you will need UKVI IELTS of 5.0 with no less than 4.5 in any band.

IELTS can be taken from the British Council. Please note that the date of your IELTS award must be within two years of your degree/master’s degree start date.

We also accept the following online tests for entry onto degree-level courses:

Language Cert - a minimum of 'pass' at B2 level
IELTS Indicator - minimum scores as above
