    Overview

    This BA (Hons) Business and Human Resource Management degree will help you to develop the skills needed in business to recruit, manage and develop the most talented staff to compete in an ever-changing business environment.

    Business is brought to life on this Business and Human Resource Management degree with focus on current real-world business and people management. You will work on live business projects and case studies to develop your confidence, business knowledge, HR knowledge, entrepreneurial mind-set and resilience.

    You will explore a range of topics such as HRM, leadership, management, marketing, finance, operations management, entrepreneurship and market research to provide you with a strong foundation of both HR and business management needed by employers today.

    Many of the jobs you will hold in the future don’t exist yet and this degree will teach you management fundamentals to deal with today’s complex and changing business landscape. It will also develop your people management focus should you decide to progress your career in HRM and extend your studies further to gain full Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) accreditation.

    On this course you will:

    • Explore various business and human resource management topics, tactics, opportunities, challenges and solutions.
    • Specialise in human resource management.
    • Complete projects with real business clients.
    • Be able to complete a 1-year and/or 10-week placement providing valuable work experience.
    • Develop valuable soft skills like teamwork, communication, time management and problem solving.
    • Have the opportunity to take part in events and activates including trips, events and business forums.

    Accreditations

    We have recently obtained CMI accreditation for BA (Hons) Business and Human Resource Management which provides you with assurance that our degrees meet current employer requirements of aspiring managers.

    In addition to your degree, you will be eligible to achieve the Level 5 Diploma or Certificate in Management on graduation at no extra cost or work, if you satisfactorily complete mapped modules. Research shows that CMI accreditation improves your employability within a graduate level job and if you are interested in a management career, this qualification can improve your potential of securing a first level management position. You can apply for ‘Chartered Manager’ status on graduation to improve your management career potential.

    How to Apply

    You can apply for up to five different degree courses at up to five different institutions through UCAS (the national Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). Your application is sent to all five universities at the same time.

    Each course has a UCAS code that you will find on our course pages or in our prospectus. You will need to know the UCAS code for the course you want to apply for when you make your application. The UCAS code for the University of Chichester is (CHICH) C58.

    You will need to include the following documents:

    1. Personal Statement – A written piece of about yourself; why you have chosen the course you are applying for, and why you want to come to the University of Chichester
    2. Copies of Qualifications to date – Translated into English
    3. Proof of English Language Level – If English is not your first language
    4. Two academic references
    5. For a Music course we will need a DVD of a musical performance for 5 minutes long. We also require an academic essay written in English.
    6. For Dance we need a web link of two performances, one of which should be contemporary and at least three minutes long. We also require an academic essay written in English.

    When your application is received by the Admissions Department, the Admissions Tutor for your chosen subject will consider your application. We aim to reply to you within two weeks.

    • Conditional Offer – if you have not yet met all the entry requirements. The conditions may be academic, for example the successful completion of a current course of study or obtaining a particular IELTS score.
