Overview
This BA (Hons) Business Management and Finance degree gives you an overall knowledge of crucial factors within the business sector with a focus on accounting and finance and improving the financial performance of a business.
Business is brought to life on our business management and finance degree with focus on current real-world business and financial scenarios. You will work on live business projects and case studies to develop your confidence, business knowledge, financial acumen, entrepreneurial mind-set and resilience.
You will explore a range of topics such as finance, accounts, taxation, management, enterprise, information systems, market research and marketing to provide you with a strong foundation of both finance and business management needed by employers today.
Many of the jobs you will hold in the future don’t exist yet and this degree will teach you management fundamentals to deal with today’s complex and changing business landscape. It will also develop your financial focus, should you decide to progress your career in accounts and finance or extend your studies further to gain full Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) accreditation. Some of our modules have ACCA exemption.

Accreditation
We have recently obtained Chartered Management (CMI) accreditation for BA (Hons) Business Management and Finance which provides you with assurance that our degrees meet current employer requirements of aspiring managers. In addition to your degree, you will be eligible to achieve the Level 5 Diploma or Certificate in Management on graduation at no extra cost or work, if you satisfactorily complete mapped modules. Research shows that CMI accreditation improves your employability within a graduate level job and if you are interested in a management career, this qualification can improve your potential of securing a first level management position. You can apply for ‘Chartered Manager’ status on graduation to improve your management career potential.
The Accounting and Finance programme is accredited by the ACCA, the global professional accounting body offering the Chartered Certified Accountant qualification. If you decide to specialise more on the financial elements of your degree, there are eight possible exemptions available out of the fourteen papers on the ACCA qualification. This means you don’t have to start at the beginning of becoming ACCA registered and have already passed some of the modules required to pursue a financial career.
