BA (Hons) in Drama and Performance

This one-year add-on honours Drama and Performance degree aims to facilitate the development of students' academic, intellectual and personal development, to enable them to function as professionals within indigenous and international Arts organisations and pursue academic research interests in the field of Drama.

The course aims to provide graduates with the knowledge, skills and competencies in the area of drama and theatre studies making them suitable for employment in careers as Creative Arts professionals who develop, lead and sustain the industry on a national and international basis.

If you are interested in studying in DkIT, you need to meet the entry requirements for the program for which you want to apply. Each application must be accompanied by certified evidence of all relevant qualifications held to date including evidence of proficiency in English.

Practically every major Electronic and IT Company in the world has a presence in Ireland including Apple, Hewlett Packard, Ericsson, Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Analog Devices and Xilinx.

You may work for one of these major companies. Alternatively, you may find employment with Eir, the ESB, Facebook, Amazon or BT. You may become an installation/maintenance engineer in a Biotech, Chemical or other manufacturing facility or even in the Army, Garda Siochana, Local Authority or government departments.

The world is becoming more technology-oriented by the day but fewer people understand its underlining principles. All employers in the Electrical / Electronic / IT area are greatly concerned that we are not producing enough engineers at the present time.

If your application is successful, you will receive an initial letter of offer either directly or through the offices of the agency.

You must then pay the fees for the first year of the programme in full and and provide evidence of a health insurance policy. Once your fees have been lodged in full to the DKIT account, a final letter of offer will be issued. You will need this letter in order to apply for a student visa. Visa applications are made to your local Irish Embassy or Consulate or to the Department of Justice in Ireland. If your visa application is refused, you can apply to the Institute regarding a refund.
