    Extend your understanding of agricultural innovation and find sustainable solutions that protect our natural resources, yet meet global demand for food, fibre and biofuels.

    Experience some of the best animal and agricultural facilities in the Southern Hemisphere, including research greenhouses, a plant nursery, a commercial dairy, and more than 1,000 hectares of unique subtropical farmland.

    Gain hands-on experience in independent research within plant, soil or animal sciences. Working alongside our world-class academics or in industry, you will hone your critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Learn how to review scientific literature, design and execute experiments, and analyse data. You'll have the opportunity to present your research project at the Student Conference or a seminar.

    Upon graduation, you'll be in demand with 6 jobs to every agricultural university graduate in Australia.

    Entry Requirements

    Minimum entry score

    Select where you studied and your qualification to see the minimum entry score you need to be considered for this program.

    Use the minimum entry score as a guide. Your score must be at least equivalent to the required Australian Year 12 ATAR score. Entry requirements are subject to change.

    Prerequisites

    Bachelor of Agricultural Science or Bachelor of Sustainable Agriculture (or equivalent), with:
    • a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale, and
    • have secured an honours project and supervisor, and
    • satisfied any additional requirements set by the head of school.

    English language requirements

    IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ

    TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition) - Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19.

    PTE Academic - Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands.

    BE - A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.

    CES - Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.

    OET is not accepted.
