    About

    The Bachelor of Architectural Studies (Honours) enables high-performing undergraduate students to deepen their knowledge through a significant research project. You'll undertake research-methods courses to assist you to prepare a thesis, and will be supervised by an academic and often an architect of practice. Following the Honours year, you may apply to enter the Master of Architecture or apply to undertake a research degree such as the Master of Philosophy, Masters by Research or a PhD.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Students must hold a Bachelor degree in Architectural Studies with the equivalent of a UNSW Credit average (minimum of 65 Weighted Average Mark).

    Exceptions:

    • Bachelor of Education (Secondary): 7 overall (min 6.5 in writing & reading, 7.5 in speaking & listening)
    • Bachelor of Education (Primary) (Honours): 7.0 overall (min 7.0 in each subtest)
    • Bachelor of Social Work (Honours): 7 overall (min 7.0 in listening, reading, writing, and speaking)

    6.5 overall (min 6.0 in each subtest)

    • Master of Teaching (Primary & Secondary): 7.5 overall (min 7.0 in writing & reading, 8.0 in speaking & listening)

    Accreditation

    Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Architectural Studies program (3261) are eligible to become Student Members of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects. Graduates of Architectural Studies are eligible to apply for the Master of Architecture degree. It is this degree which will be accredited by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) and the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia (AACA) for the purpose of registration, subject to the prescribed professional experience and examination requirements.
