    The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Bachelor of Arts with an Archaeology Major draws on both the sciences and the humanities to interpret the physical evidence left by humans and their ancestors around the planet.

    Practitioners use information from geography, history, mathematics, biology, anthropology, chemistry and sociology. The archaeology Major provides comprehensive training in archaeological methods and theory, field survey and excavation, and Aboriginal and maritime archaeology, with a solid Australian focus.

    Graduates find employment in a range of areas such as heritage advisors for mining companies and government departments, while positions for Archaeologists exist in the Western Australia Museum and Maritime Museum.

    The State Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Federal National Native Title Tribunal recruits those with skills in archaeology for roles determining Native Title claims.
