    About

    Our Bachelor of Arts degree presents a forward-looking perspective on the humanities and social sciences, geared towards addressing the increasingly complex challenges facing individuals, communities and societies.

    Majoring in Cultural Studies, you’ll develop high-level communication, critical and independent thinking skills. You’ll build an understanding of the political, social, historical and economic effects of different cultures, while learning strategies to promote social change. With your strong ethical principles and cultural sensitivity, you’ll be able to navigate seamlessly across a diverse range of cultural environments – no matter where in the world your journey takes you.

    Contemporary learning experiences across the degree are underpinned by genuine community and industry engagement. Through integrated placements in real work environments, you’ll explore professional pathways in sectors aligned with your interests.

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible, an applicant must have achieved at least one of the following minimum entry requirements and demonstrate they fulfil any prerequisite and essential criteria for admission. In cases where there are more eligible applicants than available places, admission will be competitive with ranks based on the entry criteria.

    Secondary education (Year 12)

    • Completion of a secondary education qualification equivalent to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

    Vocational Education and Training (VET)

    • Completion of an award from a registered training organisation (RTO) at Certificate IV (AQF level 4) or higher.

    Higher education study

    • Successful completion of at least 6 months full-time study (or equivalent part-time) in a higher education award program.
