    Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws

    About

Our fast-track trimester timetable makes it easy to tackle a double degree at Bond. In fact, you can complete two degrees here in less time than you could graduate with just one at most other universities.

Bond’s Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws double degree takes just 3 years 8 months (11 semesters).

The combination of business and law lays the groundwork for an almost unlimited selection of career options in the corporate, finance, legal, government and community sectors. You will have the full suite of skills in business management, entrepreneurship, human resources, and communication, along with complementary skills in negotiation, mediation, dispute resolution, advocacy, and legal know-how.

The business element of the program covers accounting, economics, finance, and marketing, as well as the opportunity to research, create, launch, and run a real business through Bond’s unique Business Model Generation and Execution subjects. You will have access to the Bond Business Accelerator bootcamp, and our Innovation Workshop Series run by the Commercialisation Centre, as well as Bond’s FinTech Hub equipped with 40 live Bloomberg terminals.

Your law studies cover all the compulsory subjects required for your pathway for admission to legal practice in Australia, plus the opportunity to specialise in an area of interest. You will develop advanced ‘lawyering’ skills in legal writing and reasoning, oral communication, advocacy, dispute resolution, negotiation, research, legal ethics, and professionalism.

    Outcomes

    Solicitor

Upon being admitted to the legal profession, you can work as a solicitor in a law firm, government organisation or a community legal centre. You can choose to specialise in a particular area of practice or be a generalist. The size of law firms ranges from small, medium, large or boutique.

    Senior business analyst

The projected job growth over the next five years for business analysts is 29.6 per cent making the profession in high demand across various industries. Business analysts help businesses improve their systems and processes through data analysis.

    Inhouse counsel

Upon being admitted to the legal profession, you can work as an in-house counsel, where you will use your legal skills for the benefit of a particular organisation. You will often be involved in a range of areas of law particular to the needs of the organisation and therefore not specialise in one area of law.

    Non-legal role

Graduating with a combined business and law degree provides you with an array of legal skills which include critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, conflict resolution and advocacy which can be transferred into any non-legal role. This career pathway doesn’t necessarily require you to be admitted to the legal profession.  You can work in non-legal roles in management consulting, politics, journalism, human resources, investment banking and more.
