    About

    When you choose the Financial Planning major in the Bachelor of Business at RMIT University, you are undertaking a recognised and accredited major with subjects that will equip you with the expertise to provide professional financial advice in a range of areas including personal planning, taxation, estate planning, superannuation, retirement planning, insurance and investment planning.

    The Financial Planning major will develop your financial knowledge, analytical skills and decision-making abilities, enabling you to work as a qualified professional financial planner and in other finance sector roles. More specifically, you will learn how to identify the appropriate risk profile of individual investors to recommend matching asset allocations into bonds, shares and property markets.

    As you develop your core skills towards obtaining a financial planner license and Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) membership, you will also learn about the changing regulatory and legal environment in Australia. Additionally, you will gain knowledge around common tax effective investments and superannuation strategies to achieve potential clients' goals and objectives. 

    Students who also complete Financial Planning and Tax minor meet the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA)’s approved degree requirement.
