    Communication skills are in high demand in all fields and most professional roles. They are important in managerial roles and in specific fields such as advertising, public relations, marketing, journalism, traditional and digital media, social media, film and television, user-interface design, human resources, corporate training, and professional writing.

    Bond’s Bachelor of Communication combines the fundamentals of communication and media with in-depth studies in your choice of specialised fields such as advertising, public relations, journalism, or social media.

    Develop knowledge and skills in strategic communication, written and oral presentations, interpersonal and intercultural communication, persuasion, content creation for online platforms, blogging and podcasting, and digital and social media. Bond offers 10 areas to choose from for your major/minor specialisations.

    General Secondary Education Certificate 85%

    Grade average of final year results. Converted to a percentage scale where 50% = pass if otherwise reported.

    General Secondary Education Certificate (Successful Completion) and required SAT score 1020

    Overall test score. Where multiple test results have been presented, the overall test result providing the best rank will be used.

    Bond's programs are taught and assessed in English, so depending on your educational background and citizenship, you may be required to provide evidence that your English language ability meets our requirements. This may include submitting results from an approved English Language Test taken in the past two years - you can see the required results for the most common approved tests below. There are other ways to demonstrate English language proficiency and gain entry into this program, including demonstrating prior study in English, or other qualifications. If your qualification does not meet the English language requirements then you will need to provide an English proficiency test for admission.

    Outcomes

    PR Strategist

    A public relations strategist provides strategic leadership in public relations including media relations, crisis communication, and reputation management. Some responsibilities are to cultivate relationships with writers, editors, and influencers; conduct media monitoring and track social change themes; serve as a spokesperson on media interactions that impact an organisation; provide proactive crisis communication planning; and manage and execute ongoing reputation management strategies.

    Social Media Manager

    A social media manager creates and maintains brand promotions, information about a company, and marketing campaigns across social media. These managers keep up with industry and technological trends and work alongside creative groups such as public relations and sales to drive lead generation campaigns. Some tasks they perform are content creation, monitoring social analytics, devising a social network strategy, and engaging with audiences.

    Creative Director

    A creative director in an advertising agency takes responsibility for all creative design output and is often responsible for staff supervision and work production. They are responsible for creating a vision for a company’s branding, and they produce art and designs to support that vision. Some of their tasks are to present work to clients; choose and approve images, graphics, and designs; turn ideas and messages into visuals; and keep projects on budget and to deadline.

    Journalist

    A career in journalism will be exciting and exhilarating – journalists take their passion for writing to create and present compelling news articles and stories. A journalist has the skillset to write for magazines, newspapers, online websites and publications, or television as well as present on radio, podcasts, television, and other online mediums. They also have the skillset to conduct research and present content in a clear and compelling way.
