    Advancing technology is creating exciting opportunities for the construction industry. Innovative digital engineering, modelling and automation techniques are changing what's possible.

    Worldwide, demand is soaring for graduates with skills and understanding in these areas, together with a firm grasp of contemporary building, project management and sustainability practices. Our Bachelor of Construction Management will make these opportunities yours. 

    Taught over three years full-time within a faculty ranked 50 in the world for computer science and engineering*, the degree leverages the University's strong industry links and world-class research. Co-developed with industry, it features an emphasis on real-world experience, with an internship providing 456 hours of work-based training and industry internship opportunities embedded into the program during 3rd year.

    In addition to gaining a broad understanding of the foundations of the construction industry and associated project management–you'll develop skills in applying and using:
    • new and emerging technology, including digital engineering tools and automation technologies (Industry 4.0)
    • civil engineering principles and technology, in real-world construction contexts
    • construction project and people management, including legal requirements
    • systems thinking, building science and economics principles
    • sustainability principles to design more eco-friendly construction processes
    • effective interpersonal communication, and critical thinking.

    Students who as part of their studies take part in The Academy by Deloitte experience will have the benefit of undertaking a paid internship with Deloitte. This internship is designed to shape their business readiness through significant real-world client exposure, access to multiple networking opportunities and relevant professional training.


    A graduate of Construction Management is equipped with skills in socially and environmentally sustainable construction technologies, project management, and skills in civil construction, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and engineering construction management.

    Utilising a broad skill set that blends construction management and technology, you might find yourself:

    • overseeing and managing large-scale construction and infrastructure projects
    • consulting with engineers, architects and technical trades workers
    • coordinating labour, equipment and plant resources, as well as overseeing and managing contracts for work
    • interpreting technical drawings and specifications for new infrastructure, as well as designing and managing sustainable building practices
    Developed and delivered in collaboration with industry, our curriculum has a strong emphasis on real-world experience, integrating learning with hands-on experience–enabling you to gain employment in industry after your second year and continue studying while your work–allowing for rapid transition to industry after graduation.

    There is also flexibility to move between the Associate Degree (2 year), the Bachelor Degree (3 year) and the Honours Degree (4-year duration). Our programs offer an innovative blend of industry relevant knowledge and skills – ensuring you'll graduate ready to thrive in your chosen career.
