About

Property developers plan and carry out the purchase, development and sale of new or existing properties. The Bachelor of Construction (Property Development) gives you an insight into the process of developing a property - from initial concept to project completion and sale. Gain an understanding of the valuation, financing and management of property and property portfolios, learn to identify and develop project opportunities, become familiar with construction practice, procurement tendering, property and contract law and administration, sustainable design, and design management.

Entry Requirements

For this programme, you will need the following: 1. 42 credits at NCEA Level 3 or higher including: 14 credits in two different approved subjects; and 14 credits from up to two subjects (approved or non-approved) 2. 8 credits at NCEA Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Maori (4 in reading, 4 in writing) 3. 12 credits in NCEA Level 2 or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau 4. If English is not your first language, you will need one or more of the following: Have achieved NCEA Level 3 and New Zealand University entrance Be able to provide evidence you satisfy our criteria for existing English proficiency Have achieved at least one English proficiency outcome in the last two years Don't have NCEA? We also accept: A relevant qualification at Level 3 on the NZQF or above or an equivalent qualification; OR Provide sufficient evidence to be eligible for special or discretionary admission. 1. Before you apply

Have your ID documents handy. Make sure that you put your name correctly into the application form, in the correct case. Otherwise, you may end up with 'riP vaN winkeL' on your certificate when you graduate.

2. Apply

The application stage will take about 5 minutes, and we’ll ask you to create an application account with us as part of this process. If you’ve studied with us before, but you never created an account, apply as a new applicant and let your enrolment manager know when you talk to them.

3. Fulfil enrolment tasks

There will be a few things for you to do, like supply evidence of your identity and citizenship, and any requirements related to the programme you’re applying for. You may need to come in to Unitec to attend an interview or audition.

4. Talk to us

A specialist enrolment manager may give you a call to check in soon after you’ve applied. You may not have supplied all of the evidence by then, but don’t worry. Based on this conversation, and the information we have, we may be able to make you an offer of study. This is a good opportunity for you to ask any questions about your programme (if you have them), and make sure you know what’s going to happen next.

5. Accept your offer

You will accept your conditional or unconditional offer in your enrolment portal. If the offer is conditional, you’ll need to fulfil all the conditions as quickly as you can so that we can enrol you into classes.

6. Pay your fees

We’ll send you an invoice, and information about how to pay your fees. If you’re a domestic student, you can apply for a student loan via Studylink, or read our information on the fees-free tertiary study policy.

If you want to apply for a short course online then you need to:
