The Australian Cybersecurity Strategy is an initiative that will allocate AUD$8.6 million to upskilling the cyber workforce, among other large investments. Factors such as the rapid increase in cloud adoption, the rise of generative AI (GenAI) and growing need for government regulations are contributing to the demand for cybersecurity technologies (Gartner, 2024).

Globally, according to the World Economic Forum (2023), cybercrime has emerged as the world’s third-largest economy, trailing close behind the United States and China.
