Degree Overview
>MH304 Bachelor of Electronic Engineering is accredited by Engineers Ireland and is recognised internationally. The five year Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electronic Engineering at Maynooth University is accredited by Engineers Ireland and meets the educational standard required to become a chartered engineer.
>In MH304 Electronic Engineering, students take Engineering fundamentals, Mathematics modules and start their first Problem Based Learning Project in 1st year, with projects in all proceeding years of the degree.
>In 4th year, students specialise in one of the following three options:
-Electronic Engineering with Computers (COE)
-Electronic Engineering (EEG)
-Electronic Engineering with Communications (COM)
>Students who achieve a 2.2 grade (50%) minimum in 3rd year may choose the MEng stream. These students have the option in 4th year to complete one of the following: 6 month industry work experience / Erasmus or Research Internship or Project (subject to availability).

W.A. Barrett Scholarship in Engineering: The W.A. Barrett Scholarship in Engineering at Maynooth University was established in 2023 through the generosity of Earthridge International and the Barrett family to commemorate the late William Anthony (Tony) Barrett. The scholarship provides 3,000 to eligible first year students taking a Level 8 course that is accredited by Engineers Ireland at Maynooth University. Two scholarships are available for MH304/MH306 Engineering students.
