    • You will develop high level professional skills in film direction, producing, camera, sound, lighting, editing, digital composing, post-production, scriptwriting and visual effects.
    • Benefit from work placement opportunities, master classes, mentoring programs and guest lectures with film and screen production experts, and have the opportunity to submit your films to national and international film festivals.
    • Choose between two majors - Film Production focusing on creating movies for the big screen, making scripted shows, documentaries and reality TV, working with actors, writing scripts and making short films. Or are you more interested in the small screen and would like to major in Screen Production? Create exciting online content for use on YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo and websites.

    Entry Requirements

    Pre-requisites

    To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

    • English (Units 3 & 4, C) 

    We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.

    • Subject pre-requisite: General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C) or equivalent.
    • Recommended prior study: Mathematical Methods and one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics or equivalent. If students do not have the recommended Mathematical Methods Level for entry then they will be required to undertake MAT1000 Mathematics Fundamentals as an elective.

    English language requirements

    You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

    Recognition of prior learning or work experience

    If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

    English Program Requirements

    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows students to gain credit (advanced standing) towards their course in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. Applicants are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
