Bachelor of Film and Screen Production (Film Production)

Overview

• Passionate about film production? Benefit from a major focused independently on film making and its related parts, with a close alignment to both national and international developments in the industry. You will graduate with industry skills but also transferable knowledge youre able to apply in many other industries and careers.
• Develop the skills required to make movies for the big screen, write scripts, work with actors, and make short films.
• Enjoy the flexibility of online study, while still learning all the necessary skills required in the practical area of film production.

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

• English (Units 3 and 4, C)

We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at Australian Year 12 high school level. Find out more about assumed knowledge.

Note: It is a requirement that Queensland-based students hold a current positive notice indicating that they are deemed suitable for working with children and young people whilst studying the Bachelor of Film and Screen Production. Further information about the Blue Card or Exemption Card suitability process is available from the Blue Card Services.

All UniSQ program entry requirements list an IELTS English score as a prerequisite. If you have another English language proficiency score, please consult the table below for equivalent comparisons. English Language Proficiency tests should not be older than two years upon application.

Career outcomes

• Graduates will be prepared for employment not only in film making, but television drama, web production, advertising, digital streaming, visual effects, corporate video production, computer generated imagery and more.

To apply to study, you will need to submit your application either via QTAC or directly to UniSQ.

• If you're applying for the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Paramedicine or Bachelor of Midwifery, you will need to apply via QTAC. 
• If you are applying for an undergraduate program with UniSQ as a Domestic student, you are new to UniSQ, you are in Year 12 or completed Year 12 the year prior to commencing your study, or it's been a while since you left school, apply through QTAC.
• If you have previously studied at UniSQ or have completed a Certificate III or higher with TAFE QLD, you can apply directly to UniSQ.
• If you're an International student, you can apply directly to UniSQ.
• If you are applying to study a postgraduate program with UniSQ you will need to submit your application directly to UniSQ via the online application portal.
