    What is a Bachelor of Health Science in Aesthetics?

    A Bachelor of Health Science (Aesthetics) equips you with a diverse range of clinical knowledge and skills, focusing on preventative skin health and anti-ageing dermal therapies. This in-depth aesthetic course covers advanced skin health protocols and the most up-to-date techniques, therapies, technology and products.
    Supported by a foundation of health science, biology knowledge and communication skills, this degree develops your understanding of a range of aesthetic principles, technologies and innovations, and teaches you to incorporate them into professional practice. The practical elements of this course will take place in our collaborative student-led clinic on the Brisbane campus, offering clients a range of treatments so you can confidently begin work in the dermal therapy industry.

    Learning outcomes and Work-Integrated Learning

    • Perform and co-ordinate various dermal treatments to meet industry standards.
    • Develop treatment plans aligned to clients specific needs and expectations.
    • Understand skin health protocols and how they impact different skin types and conditions.
    • Stay on the frontline of innovative industry developments.
    • This course has a requirement of 280 hours of professional clinical practice.

    ASDC accredited

    This course is accredited by the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians.

    Eligible for Queensland Government Radiation Health Cosmetic Laser licence

    Upon completion of laser training and your degree, you’ll automatically be eligible to apply for your Queensland Health Cosmetic Laser license.

    Admission criteria

    Before you begin your application to study as a international student, check that you meet the requirements listed below.

    Successful completion of at least 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5, 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6 or above, or equivalent

    OR

    Australian secondary school certificate, or equivalent Senior Secondary qualification, or Baccalaureate Diploma

    Academic IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5) or equivalent
    OR alternative entry requirement may be available. Alternative entry may include assessment and approval of prior study, or successful completion of a readiness assessment. Contact the International Admissions team for more information.
