    About

    In this program, you will learn how to work with people from a range of fitness levels and ages. This includes high-performance through general health and fitness, rehabilitation and management of chronic disease through exercise. Areas of study you can choose from include biometrics, exercise physiology, exercise prescription, motor control and sports psychology. This program will also give you the professional skills you need to deliver high-quality care, with 140 hours of work placements. Gain hands on experience in our dedicated exercise and sport science labs. When you graduate, you can choose from a range of career options in health and fitness centres, working in government agencies associated with sport, in teaching and research, as well as professional sporting groups, rehabilitation clinics and hospitals.

    Entry requirements for international students

    **The Part-time option is not available to International Students on a Student Visa.

    Applicants who have undertaken studies overseas may have to provide proof of proficiency in English. Local applicants who are applying through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) will find details of minimum English proficiency requirements and acceptable proof on the UAC website. Local applicants applying directly to the University should also use the information provided on the UAC website.

    International students currently completing an Australian Year 12 in or outside Australia, an International Baccalaureate in Australia or a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) level 3 must apply via UAC International.

    All other International applicants must apply directly to the University via the International Office.

    International students applying to the University through the International Office can find details of minimum English proficiency requirements and acceptable proof on their website.

    Overseas qualifications must be deemed by the Australian Education International - National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR) to be equivalent to Australian qualifications in order to be considered by UAC and Western Sydney University.

    Admission

    • Assumed Knowledge: Any 2 subjects of English
    • Recommended Studies: Any 2 subjects of English, plus four subjects of Science and/or Mathematics. PDHPE can be counted as a science subject for this program.

    Special Requirements Prerequisites

    In order to enrol in Second Year Autumn subjects, all students must have:

    1. Working with Children Check Student Declaration
    2. National Police Check
    3. First Aid Certificate
    4. Student Undertaking
