    About

    This course examines organisational and technological issues required to analyse and design business information systems. Throughout the program you will develop an understanding of organisational settings recognising technology threats and opportunities utilising modern principles and theories with practical applications. Subjects such as information security multimedia knowledge management databases and emerging technologies in business will help you become familiar with the latest developments in IT as well as different types of tools and their applications. Electives will compliment your IT degree allowing you to build your business acumen with subjects including the theory and practice of managing people to build knowledge and understanding of workplace behaviour.

Every Co-op student completes a minimum of 60 days’ paid placement relevant to their course – contributing directly to course credits – either full time over one semester, part time over an extended period or in blocks embedded into your subjects. Co-op offers flexibility to suit our students’ commitments and course.

    Academic entry requirements

    Successful completion of Australian Year 12, or overseas equivalent.

    English language requirements

    Overall Academic IELTS band score of 6.0, with no band less than 5.5, or equivalent

    Applicable to onshore international students applying for undergraduate/bachelor degree programs only.

    English Program Requirements

    Federation University accepts a variety of English language tests as proof of English proficiency. English proficiency assessment should be made using an external English test (Academic IELTS or equivalent) with the results determining whether the student can enter into our programs directly or via an appropriate English program.

    From 1 July 2016 direct entry without an external English test will be only permitted when student meets the English exemption requirements described on the Federation English language requirements page as per the Simplified Student Visa Framework’s English requirements.

    How to Apply

    Entry requirements vary from program to program, but generally require completion of an Australian bachelor degree, or overseas equivalent, with specified minimum grades (or marks) in relevant subjects. A period of work experience, following graduation, may also be required for some programs.
