    The Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional Practice) is Federation's premier co-operative degree, with a long history of providing students with successful placements with key industry partners including IBM®, and more recently Kyndryl and Westpac.
    Choose your study path, including subjects such as Mainframe (a specialised area only offered by a select number of universities worldwide), Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Analysis, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineering.
    Through the degree you'll also become job-ready through our career development units, and complete 1600 hours of paid industry placement through one of our selected industry partners.

    Academic entry requirements

    Successful completion of Australian Year 12 with final-year mathematics courses, or overseas equivalent.

    Essential requirements for admission

    All applicants must attend an interview as part of the selection process. Interviews are conducted with industry representatives to ensure applicants career objectives align with internship opportunities.

    Applicants must be able to pass a police check prior to beginning the internship.

    English language requirements

    Overall Academic IELTS band score of 6.0, with no band less than 5.5, or equivalent

    English Program Requirements

    Federation University accepts a variety of English language tests as proof of English proficiency. English proficiency assessment should be made using an external English test (Academic IELTS or equivalent) with the results determining whether the student can enter into our programs directly or via an appropriate English program.

    From 1 July 2016 direct entry without an external English test will be only permitted when student meets the English exemption requirements described on the Federation English language requirements page as per the Simplified Student Visa Framework’s English requirements.

    How to Apply

    Entry requirements vary from program to program, but generally require completion of an Australian bachelor degree, or overseas equivalent, with specified minimum grades (or marks) in relevant subjects. A period of work experience, following graduation, may also be required for some programs.
