    About

The Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) is for students that currently hold a degree in an area other than law, and are considering a legal education to either practice law, or further your career in areas of business, government, not-for-profit and international relations. Engage with the complexities of the law as you explore how to achieve social justice when you study law at UOW. You will be equipped with a comprehensive legal education that provides a thorough grounding in the law, as well as a real-world focus on practical skills and an understanding of the social and ethical context in which the law operates.

How does the law interact with society? How can we advocate for social justice while upholding the law?

On completion of this degree, you will be able to answer these questions and more as your enter traditional careers in the legal profession and a wide range of complementary careers.

See the course handbook for more information.

You'll benefit by learning from recognised and passionate leaders in their fields.

You will learn core fundamentals across practical and theoretical subjects in the first year of your degree before deciding which electives to focus on from the second year. You will develop key skills in legal research, interviewing, legal drafting, advocacy and negotiation.

You'll be immersed in practical, hands-on learning as you build a contextual legal education. You will also gain practical experience during a legal internship where you will gain highly valued industry experience.

Throughout this degree, you will gain hands-on experience, make meaningful professional connections and be given the opportunity to study abroad. International law graduates who wish to practice law in Australia may complete this Graduate Entry course to be recognised for admission as a lawyer in Australia (subject to completion of Practical Legal Training).
