    About

    Our Bachelor of Mathematics provides you with a solid grounding in the theories, principles and technical skills essential to mathematical sciences. Preparing you for an exciting and unpredictable career interpreting numbers, shapes, patterns and relationships.

    You’ll build a deep knowledge of the abstract theories used in mathematics and statistical modelling. Learn fundamental concepts in calculus, algebra, statistics and data taming. You might even get the opportunity to define and interpret problems in our specialised Maths Clinic - where you'll develop appropriate solutions for real business problems.

    But it’s not all theory – you'll sharpen your technical and professional skills on real-world industry projects. You may even decide to pursue further research with an additional honours year.

    You’ll graduate with the expertise to apply your knowledge and skills on mathematical-based challenges across a variety of industries – in fields like biostatistics, business, marketing and education and more.

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible, an applicant must have achieved at least one of the following minimum entry requirements and demonstrate they fulfil any prerequisite and essential criteria for admission. In cases where there are more eligible applicants than available places, admission will be competitive with ranks based on the entry criteria.

    Secondary education (Year 12)

    • Completion of a secondary education qualification equivalent to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

    Vocational Education and Training (VET)

    • Completion of an award from a registered training organisation (RTO) at Certificate IV (AQF level 4) or higher.

    Higher education study

    • Successful completion of at least 6 months full-time study (or equivalent part-time) in a higher education award program.
