    The Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) is a broad and flexible degree that can be tailored to suit your interests. You’ll build advanced knowledge in mathematics and related disciplines so you can work towards your dream career.

    You’ll tackle a range of topics in statistics, data science and applied mathematics. Learn advanced mathematical methods and theories and how to apply them to solve important industrial and social problems. Use your majors and elective courses to build your knowledge in a related discipline, preparing you to work in your desired role or industry.

    You’ll also complete an internship, supervised project or work in our dedicated Mathematics Clinic so you can get valuable industry experience. Your honours year will focus on advancing your knowledge in your chosen area of mathematics and provide you with a pathway into research or go-getting employment.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    To be eligible, an applicant must have achieved at least one of the following minimum entry requirements and demonstrate they fulfil any prerequisite and essential criteria for admission. In cases where there are more eligible applicants than available places, admission will be competitive with ranks based on the entry criteria.

    Secondary education (Year 12)

    • Completion of a secondary education qualification equivalent to the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

    Vocational Education and Training (VET)

    • Completion of an award from a registered training organisation (RTO) at Certificate IV (AQF level 4) or higher.

    Higher education study

    • Successful completion of at least 6 months full-time study (or equivalent part-time) in a higher education award program in an undergraduate diploma (AQF level 5) or higher.
