    Take your place at Australia's leading university for elite athletes. In our Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), you'll learn and practice techniques to enhance functional movement by undertaking biomedical, physical and behavioural science courses, as well as physiotherapy academic and clinical courses.

    Before graduation, you will be required to demonstrate physiotherapy knowledge and skills required for entry-level clinical physiotherapy practice. In your final two years of study, you'll develop and demonstrate advanced knowledge relating to research.

    Entry Requirements

    Bachelor of Physiotherapy (1589) students who commenced prior to 2025:

    Eligibility to enrol in the Dissertation courses from Year 3 is determined by the Program Director and will be subject to the following criteria:

    • achievement of a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0 for all coursework at the completion of second year of the program and
    • the suitability of the proposed dissertation topic and
    • the resources available to support the candidature including availability of appropriate supervision.

    Griffith students may not apply for the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) program by submitting an internal transfer.

    Middle Eastern Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Tawjihiyah)

    Grade average of 78 in the final year results OR successful completion of a recognised pre-tertiary or foundation program OR successful completion of one year study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution is required in addition to the completion of High School studies.

    English Program Requirements

    English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:

    English test results must be no more than two years old.

    The Direct Entry Program (DEP) pathway is not accepted for this program.

    Physiotherapists aim to enhance the movement and function of individuals and populations across the lifespan, especially when actual or potential impairments and disability relate to the musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, and neurological systems. As a graduate of this degree, you'll be prepared to find work in various settings such as hospitals, private practices, community health centres, schools, sporting teams, and the armed forces. Physiotherapists may also be employed at universities to teach or conduct research, or consult for industry and government bodies. Opportunities may vary based on location, specialisation, and additional certifications or training, but may include:

    • Clinical Physiotherapist, working in hospitals, private practices, or rehabilitation centers, providing treatment for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, or cardiopulmonary conditions.
    • Sports Physiotherapist, specializing in sports injuries, working with athletes in sports teams, fitness centers, or rehabilitation facilities.
    • Pediatric Physiotherapist, focusing on infants and children, treating developmental, musculoskeletal, and neurological conditions.
    • Geriatric Physiotherapist, working with elderly patients to improve mobility, manage chronic conditions, and enhance quality of life.
    • Occupational Health Physiotherapist, helping workers recover from injuries and promoting workplace wellness programs.
    • Health Promotion Officer, working in public health initiatives, focusing on prevention and education.
