Entry Requirements
Entry requirements for international students
**The Part-time option is not available to International Students on a Student Visa.
Applicants who have undertaken studies overseas may have to provide proof of proficiency in English. Local applicants who are applying through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) will find details of minimum English proficiency requirements and acceptable proof on the UAC website. Local applicants applying directly to the University should also use the information provided on the UAC website.
International students currently completing an Australian Year 12 in or outside Australia, an International Baccalaureate in Australia or a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) level 3 must apply via UAC International.
All other International applicants must apply directly to the University via the International Office.
International students applying to the University through the International Office can find details of minimum English proficiency requirements and acceptable proof on their website.
Overseas qualifications must be deemed by the Australian Education International - National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR) to be equivalent to Australian qualifications in order to be considered by UAC and Western Sydney University.
Please note: While international students are eligible to enrol in the Bachelor of Policing, they are not eligible to complete the NSW Police Force training required to be a police officer.
Instead of proceeding to the NSWPF Associate Degree in Policing Practices at Goulburn Police Academy at the end of their second year, international students will transfer to the Bachelor of Policing Studies and complete their third year at Western.
Special Requirements Prerequisites
Students enrolled in JUST 3012 Policing Leaders Internship (by selection only; 20 student max.) are required to receive a clear National Police Check before placement with NSW Police Force, the Australian Institute of Police Management (AIPM), or other criminal justice agencies. Students placed with the AIPM may also be subject to random drug testing. This subject is a core for Bachelor of Policing (Leadership), and positions for Bachelor of Policing students will be by invitation only and selection based on GPA.

All international students must have a good command of written and spoken English.
If your first language is English or if you can provide satisfactory evidence that English was the medium of instruction in your secondary or tertiary studies (secondary or tertiary studies completed within 2 years at the time of your commencement at Western Sydney University), you may be considered as meeting the requirement of proficiency in English.
If English is not your first language or was not the medium of instruction in your secondary or tertiary studies, you are required to demonstrate your proficiency in the English language by achieving a prescribed level in an approved English examination or test before you can receive a full offer of a place.
