    About the course In the Bachelor of Science, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding in your specialised area with hands-on laboratories from first year. You’ll select an undergraduate degree-specific major and gain the skills and knowledge to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. Your subject area expertise, coupled with a teaching qualification, will see you thrive in the global knowledge society. A nationwide shortage of qualified STEM teachers within WA and across Australia also means you’ll be highly sought after. Choose to major in: Anatomy and Human Biology Chemistry Marine Biology Mathematics Physics Psychological and Behavioural Sciences Sport Science Within the Master of Teaching, you’ll integrate theory with practice and undertake professional placements in secondary schools, under the mentoring of current STEM teachers. You’ll also learn from expert lecturers who’ll share their teaching experience. The Master of Teaching is taught on a school-term basis, and you will start taking postgraduate units in term 1 of your third year of study. This course focuses on school-based practice, curriculum area skills and contemporary best practice to prepare you for a career across government, independent or Catholic education school systems. Study plans will be constructed to ensure you’ll qualify to teach two ATAR curriculum areas up to Year 12.

    English Program Requirements

    ADMISSION REQUIREMENT English competency English is the language of instruction and assessment at UWA and you will need to meet the English language requirements of the University to be eligible for a place. This course has higher ELC requirements. Applicants presenting with the IELTS Academic require an overall score of at least 7.5, a minimum 7.0 in the reading and writing bands, and a minimum score of 8.0 in the listening and speaking bands.
