You'll conduct your own research project under the mentorship of La Trobe's expert researchers, building on the knowledge and accomplishments obtained in your Bachelor's degree, and gaining exposure to cutting-edge techniques and scientific advances.

Projects are available at the Melbourne and Albury-Wodonga La Trobe campuses and at external research institutes such as the Baker Institute and Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute.
By completing Honours, you'll be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge in your field and, through your professional behaviours, the values that shape the work of a professional scientist. You'll also have advanced skills in designing and successfully implementing scientific investigations, analysing and interpreting data and presenting your findings to scientific audiences. You'll also gain an edge in an increasingly competitive job market, have the opportunity to advance to further coursework or research at Masters level or, for outstanding achievers, direct entry into a PhD.
The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 8 – Bachelor Degree Honours.
