About

This program lets you explore different scientific disciplines and thus acquire a broad background in all the sciences. If along the way you develop an interest in a particular field, you can transfer to the program in question.

This program is offered in English and in French.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Requirements for this program have been modified. Please consult the 2021-2022 calendars for the previous requirements.

This program requires 120 units.

A maximum of 48 course units can be taken at the 1000 level.
A minimum of 60 units offered by the Faculty of Science.
A minimum of 30 units at the 3000 or 4000 level of which at least 15 units must be from the Faculty of Science.
A minor offered by the Faculty of Science.
A second minor from any Faculty.

The compulsory and optional Science courses and the electives can be combined to fulfill the requirements of any other minors or options offered by the University of Ottawa.

English Program Requirements

If you’re applying for an English-language program and have not completed at least three years of full-time study in an institution where English is the only language of instruction (aside from in language courses) in a country where English is an official language, you must submit your official score in one of the following language tests. The official results must be sent directly to us online from the test centre.
