    The Bayreuth Graduate Centre for Cultural Studies, Social Sciences and Humanities (BayKULT) offers graduate programmes focusing on different research areas: History, Cultural Encounters, Communicative Construction of Knowledge, Culture and Society, Media Culture and Media Economy, Music and Performance, and Research on Religions. The programmes provide coursework in research methods, knowledge transfer, and teaching. Doctoral candidates are welcome to participate in interdisciplinary seminars. Intensive supervision within these programmes offers additional support. BayKULT is part of the University of Bayreuth Graduate School, a school which fosters excellence through professional training opportunities, financial support and advice on funding opportunities.

    Entry Requirements

    Candidates must have an excellent Master's degree or "Diplom" or equivalent (with thesis) and must fulfil the doctoral programme admission requirements of the University of Bayreuth. If you want to apply for a doctoral programme in BayKULT, the first step is to contact one of the professors of that programme directly and ask whether he or she is willing to accept you as a doctoral candidate.
